Welcome to Pickering and the North Yorkshire Moors. The North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway is a short walk away, transporting you back in time into the famous moorland Heartbeat country of Goathland and Levisham.
Farther afield, the East Coast beckons. The seaside resorts of Whitby, Scarborough, Bridlington and Filey are all within easy reach. These traditional fishing towns, each one unique in character, have a variety of attractions for the day visitor.
For land-lovers, the market town of Helmsley is a ten-minute drive (or bus ride) away. Here you will find Helmsley Castle, Duncombe Park and Helmsley Walled Garden, as well as a variety of interesting shops, pubs and cafés.
To the south-west lies the historic city of York, with its world renowned Minster, Shambles and City Walls, which are open to the public during daylight hours.
